Cricket Skills

Each Thursday morning for five weeks we met with two coaches from North Canterbury Sport to learn and develop the skills that we would need to become a better cricket player. We learnt how to bowl, catch a high and low ball, run between wickets and how to use and hold a cricket bat correctly.
It was a lot of fun especially when we were able to put all these skills into a game.

Flower, Fruits and Fronds Show

Show Time
During our Learning Conferences in Week Four we all participated in the Flower, Fruits and Fronds Show that was held in our school hall. There was a wide variety of displays and as a class we created a range of decorated sand saucers, filled with a varied selection of flowers.
Check out some of our creations!

Swimming Sports at Dudley Park

On the 23rd February Te Tuna Team loaded themselves onto buses and headed off to Dudley Park in Rangiora for our swimming sports. Many of the children were very excited as this was there first experience at swimming sports. Competition was tough and there were a few nerves around as all those swimming gave it there very best in the range of events that were offered on the day.

Spencer Park

In Week Three of Term One we all loaded up into buses and headed off to Spencer Park for the day. After having some morning tea, it was down to the beach where we split off into groups and put our creative talents together to design and build a variety of sand castles. Once the tummies reminded us that we were hungry, it was back to the park for lunch followed by free time with friends and family. Check out what we got up too!

Woodend Christian Camp

Monday morning of Week Two arrived and Studio 16 and 17 were packed and ready to head off to Woodend Christian Camp for three days of activities including orienteering, water slide, archery, air rifles, go-karts, wall climb, flying fox and water slide. Here was the perfect opportunity for children and teachers to get to know one another outside of the school environment. It was a great three days with fantastic kids and of course our parent helpers, of which a camp could not go ahead without them!

Welcome to Studio 17 and our blog site. Please join us in our learning to check out what we have been up to over the last two terms.
